Using DSLR is a great advantage in capturing stills of a moving object. With proper use of shutter speed, you'll eventually capture a moment that your naked eyes couldn't see.
I tried using a basic point-and-shoot camera, Canon Powershot A560. The camera's features are not comparable with those of the basic Canon DSLRs. Aside from its point-and-shoot features, it uses digital zoom to reach out further subjects. It wouldn't help you achieve your desired output, considering you're a photography pro or hobbyist.
I somehow got two good shots. The shutter speed is not fast enough for a perfect "still" of the falling water. The speed is 1/60 sec. with its aperture f2.6. Not good, but I still managed to play it with the help of flash.
Be sure to subscribe in my blog to be updated with my latest "crap" shots. LOL
