5 Reasons Why You Should Watch Disney's Tangled

Posted by Kristan Sunday, February 6, 2011 View Comments

Disney's Tangled - a classic tale of Rapunzel with a twist of spices (you know what I mean). Imagine, it was like Shrek + classic Rapunzel + Robin Hood = Tangled.

I was given the opportunity to watch Tangled although it's quite late.

I must say that Tangled became one of my favorites 3d animation of Disney. We all know that it's an old Rapunzel-like approach, but guess what? Flynn Ryder - Rapunzel's love interest, and what Disney really wanted you to know, is the major "new" in the film.
“Tangled” jumps off with the classic story of Rapunzel – a princess whose mother nearly died during pregnancy. She is healed by a magical plant, stolen from the evil Gothel, who has been using the plant as a fountain of youth, of sorts. The child – Rapunzel – is born healthy, and the healing powers have been transferred from the plant to the baby. Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel, raising her as her own daughter locked in a tower.
The major twist picks up when Rapunzel finally decided to ask her "mother" to go out in the real word just to witness the "lights" coming out from the palace during her birthday (held every year in her honor). I wouldn't spoil it to you dear readers, so it starts there, and just before you know, Flynn Ryder is already in the scene - with Rapunzel.

I can give you 5 major reasons why you should watch this film:

1.) It's a DISNEY - of course, it's Disney's trademark to impress people with its animated films. Anything larger than that? It's Disney! Anything Disney is just like anything delicious.

2.) A classic tale with a major twist - like I said, the film was like Shrek with a hint of Robin Hood plus the major spices of Rapunzel. Seriously, Flynn Ryder, being a thief (im afraid I spoiled it), reminds me of the Robin Hood catch-me-if-you-can scene. Why i'd say Shrek? C'mon, it's a magical world - this includes the rivalry of Maximus (the genius horse who acts like a dog) and Flynn Ryder who later became friends in the film, just like Donkey and Shrek.

3.) Musical! Really really musical - Would you freak out? Plainly, no. I mean, there's so many Disney films that are musical, but this one is quite of a modern. Songs like, "I See the Light", "When Will My Life Begin" and of course the evil "mother", Gothel, would also catch up with, "Mother Knows Best". Any reasons why you watch this film? Knowing that its musical?  In fact, the casts includes Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi would be Flynn Ryder and Donna Murphy for Gothel. It doesnt' bore you, it is BROADWAY WORTHY!

4.) The Major Frying Pan - Their weapon would be frying pans. Just don't ask why. Watch the movie and laugh why frying pans were the issue!

5.) For everyone - When I say, "For everyone", you know what I mean. Adults would love to laugh with their youngsters as well. Now, go now, go, go!

So, i'm done with me reasons. Would it encourage you? I just hope so. Go watch Tangled now in cinemas near you.

Back to Blogging (Fingers crossed)

Posted by Kristan Thursday, February 3, 2011 View Comments

1 year ago today, I would find myself blogging and showcasing a "LOVE" typography wallpaper. Believing it is love month, that's it.

So what's in the highlight reel now? I think the "going-back-to-blogging" thing makes up this blog post. Lately, I've been busy with stuffs about school (Oh no! Not Facebook and Twitter - but its the opposite) that I find it hard to create worth-reading blog posts. So in that sense, I decided to temporarily drop my blogging habit. Come to think of it, I just can't blog about no-creative-juice entries. I just want my readers to feel comfortable with my blog entries. So everything goes along after I dropped and decide.

Dear readers, so I guess we're back in business (Fun) again. I guess I have to posts designing-related stuffs here and some random personal experiences too. Cheers to graphic designs!

An Open Letter to Santa

Posted by Kristan Wednesday, December 23, 2009 View Comments

Dear Santa,

I've been dying to see your real face. Its 24th of December and I haven't received any gift from you yet. You even left our dashboard messy and didn't even bother to leave a real Christmas present. If you're reading this right now, hope your conscience will help you decide. Since you're already a fat fella, I won't even bother to share mom's good old baked macaroons . I know you're restless but what about making my day happy?

Dear fat man, hours from now you'll be busy dropping gifts on houses, but you're forgetting to drop a single present here. If you think I'll be off wandering in my sleep, hell no, I'll be waiting for a drop from you. I'm also planning to get a glimpse on your toyshop there, North Pole must be way freezing now. One thing, are your elves sexy? World wide web must be joking, I see booty elves. Who knows? You yourself know.

Well, if you can't accept my smallest request, will you just make these Chicken instantly covered with breadcrumbs. I know, I don't believe in magic, but I believe in your fat tummy. Since we've got no chimney, i'll wait for you in our small gate. If you also got time, could you fetch my clothes in the laundry shop nearby? I'm sure you'll agree. Lastly, can you provide me a laptop? Camera? You know these are my past time!

Come on, i'm sure you still got some of your tricks there. I know you can grant the wishes of a shallow person like me. I know you will. Anyway, same as you, i'll be taking a break, school was hell. Let's all hope, along with your sneezing reindeer, that this Christmas will be another interesting and great affair to experience. Goodluck to your gift-dropping tonight fat! Just be sure to greet all the fellas you see tonight!

Truly Yours,
Kristan Franco

P.S.
WHITE BEARD rocks!

I won free passes for The Next One concert

Posted by Kristan Wednesday, December 9, 2009 View Comments

All set? I won 2 ticket passes into The Next One concert on Friday night. My sister had never been excited like this before, the fact that she'll be spending the other pass. Aside from the two passes, I also got a free dine at Grab-a-Crab worth 1000 pesos.

Sarah Geronimo Live in Gensan

3 Important things in a concert:

1.) Camera - This is a must, and it will always be.
2.) Album CD of the celebrity singer - In this case, it would be always appropriate to let the artist sign the CD. You wouldn't let the singer sign elsewhere, are you?
3.) Your passes and best dress - you might wanna know why choosing your best dress in a concert is a must? Take note, you are having photo op with a celebrity singer.

..and nothing else. Seriously, i'm not in the mood to write a proper blog post about winning a place in this blogging contest, but I just wanted to express my thoughts with this vector art or whatever we call it.

Zap Your Brain

Posted by Kristan Saturday, December 5, 2009 View Comments

You know what I love about this second semester? Weekends. The only way I can let myself be free from stress is Saturday and Sunday. It's my second year being a frustrated IT student, and right now, i'm feeling the pressure of being one.

Zap Your Brains by Kristan Franco

From the least expected minor teachers, down to profound terror profs infamous for their mind-blowing exams and quizzes, it's really a big deal to pass this semester, just to proced in the third year, which serves as the pivot point for most of IT students.

Another week of pressure, yet i'm always ready. Keeping my brain electrified just to withstand consecutive 2-hour lectures from different major subjects.I finally found myself busy these past weeks and i'm expecting the same these coming weeks.

I've been loaded with most of the subjects during MWF. While I have most of my free time in TTH.

MWF: Reality check.

4:30 am - My phone alarms (One Missed Call tone) but snoozes it into 6 am!
6:00 - i'm awake, gargles mouth, and stare blanky (starting up my brain)
6:10 - Eating my breakfast (A MUST!)
6:15 - Shower mode, (soap's getting thinner)
6:30 - I'm probably out in the shower room and grooming my self for 30 minutes!
7:00 - I'm off to school (15-minute ride would do)
7:30 - Psychology Class (The blah blah's of the works of our brain)
8:30 - PE (I hate early PE's, that means, i'll be sweating myself early!)
9:30 - My first major class, IT 225 Object-Oriented Programming (Working with VB .Net 2003)
11:30 - 1-hour lunch
12:30 - History (This class is so boring, trust me!)
1:30 - Two-hour class in this second major, IT 226 DBMS 2 (Fail!)
3:30 - Two-hour class in IT 224, System Analysis and Design (Fail!)
5:30 - No time for strolls, I'm going home.

TTH:

Usual routine, until...

7:30 - Physics class (THE MOST STUPID SUBJECT)
9:00 - Laboratory hands-on
10:00 - 2-hour break for lunch
12:00 - English class, technical writing (Somehow, this interests me)
1:30 - Religious Education (I've got a crush on my RE teacher. Yay!)

See? Would you agree that my week is toxic? Nevertheless, I still enjoy going to school (not just for my daily allowanc), but to the ongoing learnings I experience. One way to keep the enthusiasm floatin, ZAP YOUR MIND!
